RESOLUTION ON ALLOWANCES FOR GOBI AND REMOTE AREAS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ On Wednesday, the cabinet meeting discussed a draft parliamentary resolution on granting allowances to the remote and Gobi regions, reflected in it some proposals and decided to submit it to parliament.

The resolution is about a support to small- and middle-sized producers, located in the most remoted and in the Gobi region, and to localities in form of extra capitals from special funds and investments from the state budget and actions and as tax and credit policies and energy and fuel discounts.

According to the draft, 45 soums from seven Gobi aimags and 71 soums from eight other aimags are to enjoy these allowances. When choosing them, several criteria were considered as their socio-economic situation, border checkpoints, migration, consumption of consumer goods and inflation rate.

If the draft resolution is approved, every member of a family in these remoted places will get seven thous.togrog a month, and of those living in Gobi region--ten thous. a month.
