Officials discuss city development
The President’s Office and National Security Council (NSC) jointly organized an open discussion “Re - development of the capital” at Civil Hall on April 20.
President Ts.Elbegdorj, MPs Lu.Bold, Ts.Batbayar, Z.Altai, E.Bat-Uul, D.Zagdjav, D.Terbishdagva, Head of the President’s Office D.Battulga, Secretary of NSC Ts.Enkhtuvshin, Mayor G.Munkhbayar and some advisors of the President took part at the discussion.
President Ts.Elbegdorj opened the discussion and stated that 40 percent of total population of the country lives in the capital and 70 percent of Ulaanbaatar residents live in ger districts. Centers of aimags have been also contaminated and environment pollution has been concerned as national security issue. We have to decide clean water and sewage system and air pollution in cities. Besides, development of the capital has had some problems and we should take rules of city. Models and standards of soums and districts have been under process and we should pass legislation of mentioned issues, Ts.Elbegdorj noted.
