INT'L SEMINAR ON COMBATING DISEASES OF LIVESTOCK HELD

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ An international seminar titled "Multi-lateral cooperation in combating trans-boundary infectious diseases" has been held in Ulaanbaatar at initiative of the Department of Veterinary and Animal Breeding under auspices of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.

Participants have heard six reports about present situation with foot-and-mouth disease in Mongolia, Russia and China, a strategy of fighting with the diseases, related measures and projects, programs. Then they reached agreements on further works.

The seminar has brought together vet experts from Russia, China, New Zealand, the FAO and the World Veterinary Association. It also attracted delegates and officials from the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, vet agencies and services of Dornod, Dornogobi, Sukhbaatar and Khentii aimags, and donor organizations.
