Inner Mongolia tie-up sees Hertfordshire university researcher given honorary title

University of Hertfordshire plant pathologist Dr Avice Hall has been awarded an honorary professorship by the Inner Mongolia Academy of Agriculture & Animal Husbandry.

Dr Hall, who was awarded an MBE in the New Year Honours list, has gained an international reputation primarily for her research into strawberry powdery mildew. She has been a lecturer and researcher at the Hatfield-based university for more than 40 years.

In April a memorandum of understanding will be signed between the two institutions, establishing a Sino-UK laboratory collaboration for plant protection and biotechnology.
