VICE SPEAKER RECEIVES DELEGATION OF GERMAN STATISTICAL OFFICE

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ A Vice Speaker of Mogolia's Parliament N.Enkhbold received last Friday a delegation, led by Mr. Roderich Egeler, the president of the Federal Statistical Office and head of the Electoral Committee of Germany.


Mr. Egeler underlined an importance of a guaranteed statistical information needed in stabilizing the politics and in accelerating the social development. He said their statistical office works at the Bundestag of Germany to process the information focused on the society, not for the necessity of the government.

The Vice Speaker N.Enkhbold expressed satisfaction with a collaboration between the statistical offices of the two countries. He underlined that Mongolia attaches a big importance to the statistical results and figures as the country has entered a new economic and political system, and said Mongolia aims to maintain the global standards and norms of statistics.

N.Enkhbold hoped that the statistical offices of the two countries will cooperate closely and share experience, and said Mongolia wants to study Germany's experience in running a composite parliamentary election.

The delegation headed by Mr. Egeler paid a visit to Mongolia on April 19-22 at invitation of S.Mendsaikhan, a head of the National Statistical Office of Mongolia.

A joint consortium of the statistical organizations of Germany and the Republic of Korea has been selected as a partner to cooperate with the National Statistical Office of Mongolia in a form of combined partnership.

It has been done in a scope of the “Monstat-developing system of national statistics” project realized with loans and non-refundable aid from the World Bank.

During the visit, heads of the Statistical authorities of the countries signed a contract on advisory services of combined partnership.
