The EGC proposes parliamentary election poll day

The election General Committee (EGC) has submitted a proposal to hold parliamentary election poll on June 28 in accordance of the law on election that instructs to run election at last week of June. Foreign Mongolians would vote on June 10 through consulates.

According to data of EGC, a million and 834,461 citizens will vote to parliamentary election. It plans to work 26 election districts, 340 poll branches and 1950 election units where would vote 10,050 voters.

The law on election instructs that election units will use electronic voting machines. The EGC has accounted all expenditures to use electronic voting machines and employees who work during poll. Expenditure would be MNT16 billion and 824 million.

But Parliament has not decided election poll with electronic voting machines yet. United session of Parliament should discuss election date and electronic voting machines this week because poll day should be announced 60 days before election poll day in accordance of the law on election.

The MPP has said it will hold conference on May to discuss election platform and nominate candidates. The DP has not announced its meeting yet.
