Bashir new high commissioner to India

He has replaced Shahid Malik.

According the Foreign Office, Mr Bashir has served as foreign secretary from 2008 to March 2012 and was also Pakistan’s ambassador to Denmark, Lithuania, China and Mongolia.

He also served at the Pakistan’s mission to the United Nations in Geneva as well as at the Organisation of Islamic Conference in Jeddah.

Mr Bashir held important positions at the ministry of foreign affairs, including director general United Nations desk and additional secretary for Asia Pacific.—APP
